www.myaarpmedicare.com says, Half of all Americans know someone who has Alzheimer’s disease. In California, more than 440,000 people over the age of 65 have Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to increase to 660,000 by the year 2025 (source: Alzheimer’s Association).

On Saturday, February 15, and Sunday, February 16, 2014, Senior Helpers of Napa will host a seminar to address this growing public health crisis. Led by nationally renowned dementia care expert Teepa Snow, this educational seminar will help local families and healthcare professionals gain a better understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and how to work together to make the most of time with loved ones who are battling either disease.

This is sure to be an inspiring event presenting a rare interview opportunity for local media interested in learning more about how Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are affecting the community.
